We are looking for an experienced and creative Banquet Cook to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing and cooking food for large events, ensuring that all dishes are prepared to the highest standards and in a timely manner. The successful candidate will have experience in a banquet kitchen, be able to work independently and as part of a team, and have excellent customer service skills.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and cook all hot foods according to menus and number of guests on B.E.O. sheets.
• Prepare and cook all hot food for club events golf tournaments etc. as directed by Executive Chef.
• Make sure all buffet foods are ready to be picked up at appropriate time by wait staff.
• Brief the banquet kitchen staff daily about the upcoming and current functions.
• Confirm all plated meals are properly plated and ready in the hot box as appropriate times.
• Prepare and cook foods for cookouts, Barbeques, and other outdoor events.
• Ensure that all products served are of the highest standard of freshness and quality.
• Experience managing a crew of 5 or more.
• Ability to use and plan your time at work effectively and productively.
• Establish the day’s priorities and assign production and preparation tasks for the banquet kitchen staff/chefs to execute.
• Plansand manages food quantities and plating requirements for all banquet functions.
• Able to plan and execute multiple banquet functions at one time.
• Additional duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

• 3 - 5 years of previous banquet experience preferred.
• Culinary degree or related experience is preferred.
• Candidate should be able to perform all basic cooking skills.
• Able to work single station in the kitchen.
• A true desire to satisfy the needs of others in a fast-paced environment.
• Work independently while understanding the necessity for communicating professionally and coordinating work efforts with other employees and organization.
• Organizational skills for efficient office control are mandatory
• Excellent verbal communication skills
• Must be available for emergency and scheduled work requirements on evenings, weekends, or holidays
• Must be available to work flexible shifts and overtime if necessary.
• Must be able to lift to 50 lbs.
• Must be able to push and pull up to 50 lbs.
• Requires long periods of time standing, frequent bending, crouching, kneeling, and reaching

Physical Requirements

• Must be available for emergency and scheduled work requirements on evenings, weekends or holidays
• Must be available to work flexible shifts and overtime if necessary.
• Must be able to lift, push or pull up to 25 lbs. occasionally
