Essential Functions: Core

  • Open and close bank per bank procedures
  • Customer education on new deposit accounts offered
  • Open, close and maintain customers accounts:
  • Checking
  • Savings
  • Business
  • Certificates of Deposit (CD)
  • IRAs
  • Safe Deposit Boxes
  • Online banking: set up and trouble shooting
  • Receive and process checking and savings deposits:
  • Verify cash and checks.
  • Examine signatures on a negotiable instrument for an authorized endorsement
  • Detail to ID verification
  • Cash checks and process withdrawals:
  • Detail to cash availability
  • ID verification
  • Accept payments on various types of accounts:
  • Loans
  • Visa credit card
  • Miscellaneous accounts
  • Process loan advances
  • Assist in cash, teller and bank audits:
  • Buy and sell cash currency from vault
  • Balance daily drawer
  • Ensure teller drawer cash limits are not exceeded
  • ATM
  • Process cash advances

  • Redeem U.S. savings bonds
  • Balance and update customer inquiries:
  • Account histories
  • Interest rates
  • Service charges
  • Account discrepancies
  • Perform Proof function (as assigned)
  • Count and roll loose coins
  • Support CNB’s strong relationship culture through on-going customer contact, quality customer service and superior product knowledge
  • Identify and implement solutions to problems in general and urgent matters

Administrative

  • Position specifics:
  • Vault control:

▪ Open and close per bank procedures under dual control and initial log sheet

  • Balance official checks:

▪ Order checks for customers▪ Cash and send in savings bonds

  • Process debit cards:

▪ Order and check bank debit cards▪ Raise and lower debit card limits

  • Process orders:

▪ Renewal checks orders▪ Cashier checks▪ Money orders

  • Pull various reports and communicate findings to identified staff
  • File and maintain data:

▪ New and closed certificates of deposits▪ Signature cards and debit card holders▪ Dormant checking and savings order dual control

  • Process mail
  • Coordination of ancillary groups and tasks as requested
  • Recommend policies and procedures as it relates to area of responsibility
  • Timely responses to inquiries for information to customers, staff and vendors
  • Answer telephone calls and provide a prompt response. Direct to appropriate staff if unable to assist caller

General Responsibilities:

Qualifications: (Knowledge, Skill and Ability)

  • High school Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Customer service, minimum of 1 year
  • Cash-handling experience, preferred
  • Knowledge of IRA’s
  • In depth knowledge of bank deposit products and policies, preferred
  • Exceedingly detail-oriented
  • Ability to work independently and be self-motivated
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure with little or no supervision
  • Ability to prioritize and manage work effectively and efficiently to accomplish tasks while managing multiple projects at the same time and delivering friendly service
  • Ability to problem solve rationally using common sense
  • Solid decision making skills
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions either written, oral, diagram, schedule or electronic formats
  • Effective communicator (verbal, written and body language)
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Proficient math skills
  • Software knowledge of programs utilized (Microsoft Suite products, Organization and industry specific products)
