About the Company

Goose Rocks Beach General Store is a seasonal convenience store and cafe and beach food store. We are located 50 yards from the beach in Kennebunkport’s Goose Rocks Beach area. We also own Mornings in Paris Cafe and Creperie in Kennebunk and Mornings in Paris cafe in Ogunquit. As well as essential grocery items , beach toys and books there is a cafe area serving espresso drinks, freshly baked pastries, pizza,crepes, salads and lots more.

We roast and freshly grind our own carefully selected coffee beans. This is one of our key reasons for visitors coming back time and time again.

The Job and what is Involved

Baker role:

• The role is to cook and bake specific items as agreed by management to a set schedule. It is essential that we have certain products available at required times of high quality and freshly prepared.

• A set schedule will be set for baking requirements which are the responsibility of the Baker to meet,
• Ensure the kitchen are and equipment is well maintained and meets cleanliness requirements set by the federal and State laws
• Monitor food in the café area to ensure hygiene, storage, shelf life is maximized but not serving goods past the best dates

What will you be making:

• Pastries, Muffins danish and cinnamon rolls
• Toasted and Breakfast sandwiches
• Pizza’s topped to order
• Crepes
• Baguette Sandwiches

(Full training will be provided)

Our high standards must be maintained whether it be drink quality, presentation of food goods, restocking/merchandising, safety or staff and public and hygiene standards.

We will be open long hours, open from 7.00 am to at 7 pm in the summer, The store will be opening at the beginning of May and closing at the middle of October. You will need to be able to make your own way to and home from the store. The store is open long at weekends and Public holidays. . You will report to the manager on duty and be expected to contribute in many ways around store.

• Avoid last minute issue, shortages of products, equipment issues by being proactive and diligent in stock and supply awareness reporting shortages to the management team.
• Work as a part of a team
• Monitors housekeeping and sanitation standards.
• Ensures all daily side work is completed by staff and checked out by management before leaving the building.
• Assisting in other duties, as assigned.
• Able and willing to work cooperatively with other team members.
