BABYSITTER (Weekdays Part Time)

Principal Responsibilities:

Are you someone who is skilled at keeping children of various ages happy and safe? Do you enjoy a simulating job, which invites your warmth, creativity and love of children? JCC Greater Boston is looking for team members with your talents. JCare Babysitting is a drop-off childcare program at the Leventhal-Sidman JCC in Newton for member families to use while they exercise, do activities with their other children in the building, or get some work done. The play spaces are bright, cheerful and well equipped. The dedicated staff engages children ages 3 months to 5 years in play, crafts, reading, building and more. Available hours are Mondays through Fridays from 8:30am12pm September 12, 2022 June 16, 2023 with flexibility on days of the week based on your schedule. Hourly pay rate is $15-$20/hour depending on experience. Weekend shifts also available.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Welcome children and parents as they arrive, taking any special directions on the childs needs
  • Create a dynamic, fun and safe play space engaging children in reading, activities, games and toys
  • Facilitate childrens interactions introducing newcomers and supporting co-operative play
  • Ensure childrens safety and family adherence to JCare policies

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Age 16 or older for weekend work, 18 or older for weekday work
  • Flexible, mature and responsible
  • Experience working with young children, ages 3 months to 5 years, (e.g. babysitting, camp counselor etc.)
  • Brings upbeat energy to working with babies, toddlers and young children playing, being creative, building, reading and more
  • Committed to ensuring childrens safety
  • Able to pass background check

Salary:
