OneMain is seeking an experienced Cloud Architect to manage the integration of public and private cloud infrastructure to provide efficient business solutions. The responsibilities of a Cloud Architect include assessing, supporting, and implementing high-quality information technology architecture, developing governance models and workflows around cloud consumption. You will also make recommendations to leadership concerning the company’s cloud strategy, adoption plans, application design, management and monitor with the goal of delivering best in class solutions to our business partners.

Ultimately, a top-notch Cloud Architect should have exceptional communication skills, be knowledgeable about the latest industry trends, and highly innovative.

This role is Hybrid. You should be located within a commutable distance to one of our offices located in Baltimore MD, Charlotte NC, Wilmington DE, Evansville IN, Chicago IL, or Dallas/Fort Worth TX. Candidates outside the posted locations will not be considered without a cover letter indicating your willingness to relocate.

Cloud Architect Responsibilities:

• Ensure that best of breed future cloud architecture is collaboratively defined and realized in an agile fashion. Promote Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) as a formal software development activity.

• Provide thought leadership towards a foundational strategic vision for OMF Engineering platform to align on direction with internal teams and executive leadership

• Realize site reliability engineering (SRE) concepts such as resiliency, observability, alerting, and auto-remediation for the cloud platform. Enhance/extend a configuration/deployment/monitoring framework in partnership with Site Reliability Engineer(s).

• Design and implement advanced but easy-to-manage logging, alerting, and monitoring strategies for platform visibility and quick problem resolution

• Cloud cost is tracked, and resource usage optimized

• Provide technical architecture leadership and direction on projects resulting in scalable, reliable and maintainable platforms.

• Periodically review state of the tools in open source, cloud providers, and others for judicious adoption

Cloud Architect Requirements:

• 10+ years as hands on technical problem solver/coder

• 5 years architect experience with AWS

• AWS Certified Solutions Architect Professional Certification desired

• Demonstrated experience designing hybrid cloud environments

• Experience documenting governance and workflows associated with cloud environments

• Deep understanding and experience of scaling cloud environments for business needs including

• Understanding current/future business requirements

• Cost associated with scale,

• ROI associated with cloud technologies

• Experience designing highly available technology systems

• Experience with enterprise migrations from on-prem equipment to cloud environments

• Degree in computer science, information systems, or related field.

• Previous experience working on a 24x7 cloud or SaaS operation team.

• Experience with infrastructure management and monitoring.

• Experience transforming legacy solutions to the cloud a plus

• Strong knowledge of DevOps Platform tooling (Git, Chef, Puppet, Docker and Kubernetes)

• Experience coding/scripting (Powershell/Python)

• Working knowledge of automation service provisioning and middleware configuration.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Strong analytical skills.
