GCG Group St Thomas is a member of the GCG Group which operates in 21 locations across the Caribbean, Central and Latin America. We are seeking a detail orientated, highly motivated and talented Mechanic supporting our Ground Handling operations in Saint Thomas, USVI.

Primary Purpose: To ensure the safe and reliable operation of all Aircraft Ground Support Equipment (GSE) in the Company’s inventory by doing daily mechanical maintenance in an environmentally friendly work area in compliance with Government and Airport Operators Regulations.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

1) To perform Daily Line Maintenance service on all Ground Support Equipment.

2) To maintain and repair all Ground Support Equipment.

3) Maintaining a proper record management system for tracking the status of each piece of equipment.

4) Maintaining of equipment record system in the Maintenance Department.

5) Prepares daily serviceability reports, analyzes data, and makes recommendations where necessary.

6) Report safety and security breaches and submit reports where required.

7) Comply with all safety and security procedures of the Company, Airlines, JCAA, Airport Operations, IATA and ICAO.

8) To adhere to all safety standards and procedures.

9) To perform any other duties as directed by Management.

10) Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

· Certification from an approved automotive training school along with high school diploma or equivalent

· Three years on the job experience in the automotive repair field.

· Valid General Driver’s License.

Physical requirements

• Exposure to fuels, battery acid, hydraulic oil, engine cleaning

solutions, lead, mechanical and electrical hazards.

• Exposure to heat, noise, dust, fumes, and all conditions of

weather.

• Physical effort in lifting engine blocks, transmissions, gear box, tyres

etc.

• Driving Company vehicles on the Ramp as assigned.

• Ability to lift 70 pounds as needed for the position.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour

• High school or equivalent (Preferred)
