Athletic Coach: Asst. Nordic Skiing
Job description
St. Paul Academy and Summit School seeks candidates for the position of Nordic skiing assistant coach. This coach will work with our Program Head to train and develop both varsity and JV skiers. Candidates will be required to demonstrate strong organizational skills, effective communication skills with students, other coaches, parents, and administration, teach and develop skiing technique and racing strategies. Candidates should support the mission of SPA and nurture our student-athletes in a positive educational based athletic philosophy. Season runs from December 2022 through February 2022.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Creating a positive environment that promotes good sportsmanship.
- Assist with creating well-organized and structured training programs and practices
- Provide effective supervision and evaluation of all skiers
- Attend and assist with organization and management of races
- Communicating with skiers about their goals and achievements as well as providing individualized feedback.
- Attend team events like preseason meetings, team picture day and end-of-season banquet, etc.
- Maintain a safe, positive and fun environment
- Participate as a positive team member in the development and support of excellence within the Athletic Department.
