AVP, Digital

ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES

The AVP of Digital will be a thought leader and expert in digital solutions delivery. This role will be responsible for leading, managing, and building a modern, efficient digital architecture within the NAADAM holding company, that supports a matrix of digital brand portfolios, including but not limited to: Naadam, Thakoon, Package Free, Something Navy, Ivory Ella, and United.

The AVP, Digital will play a critical role in the development and growth of each brand's front-end and back-end digital product strategy and will create a central methodology for digital processes, backend system integrations and technology solutions. This role reports to the Chief Strategy Officer and will collaborate with key stakeholders across the organization to guide digital enterprise growth and develop practical solutions across the holding company with the goal of reducing costs, increasing efficiencies, and improving performance. The AVP of Digital will lead the Ecommerce and Digital Shared Service team.

What You Can Expect:

Strategy

  • Work with the brand-level leadership teams to build each brand's product roadmap and lead technology-enabled improvements (front-end and back-end) to help efficiently scale, improve customer conversion, transform customer experience, and support overarching retail and marketing strategies.
  • Proactively address challenges in the internal and external environment to protect and/or propel business interests.
  • Work closely with stakeholders across the business (including Leadership, Product Development, Merchandising, Customer Support, Operations, and Marketing) to understand needs and requirements that can be solved through enterprise processes and technology.

Platform Management

  • Align a digital operating model across brands and business functions to ensure consistency, applicability, and connectivity with Hold Co priorities.
  • Manage the relationship with our external web development agency, Half Helix, to review technical site specifications and general hotfixes while working with an agile methodology to deliver all engineering and develop solutions across the Hold Co.
  • Manage the relationship with Shopify our ecommerce platform partner and our headless hosting partners
  • Responsible for ensuring data integrity across the Shopify platform is synced and compatible with NetSuite.
  • Build knowledge base, workflows, and tools for the Ecommerce team to use and provide them with the necessary features, documentation and training.
  • Oversee the management of all enterprise software solutions including fee negotiations, contract renewals, new service offerings etc

Ecommecer/Product Management

  • Identify new technology trends and market trends and recommend product, service, and software innovations to improve the digital backend and front end experiences across each of our ecommerce sites.
  • Oversee ADA Compliance to ensure all brands are working towards WCAG 2.0 compliance or higher.
  • Maintain and improve visual, functional, and procedural standards of front end ecommerce sites across all NAADAM owned brands.
  • Ensure optimal website performance, speed, and maintain website hosting security, report and troubleshoot issues and test fixes.
  • Facilitate business requirements gathering and integrations when applicable from Shopify Plus and/or POS solutions.
  • Identify, establish, and execute ongoing opportunities and conversion rate optimization for improved customer experience, UI/UX supported by robust business requirements.
  • Own the day-to-day activities related to all ecommerce websites and customer experience including content setup, merchandising, and product management within Netsuite and Shopify.
  • Own troubleshooting of site issues with our external web development agency.
  • Consistently audit each website to ensure product, content and functionality is correct and manage internal error reporting process and resolution.
  • Own the end-to-end management of the ecommerce experiences across sites (including overseeing the uploading and deleting files, sequencing of shops and SKUs, navigation document, and replication requests/freezes).
  • Work with the brand marketing teams to determine and maintain linking strategy for each collection page.
  • Identify and Implement a robust A/B testing solution across all sites in the Hold Co by the end of 2023.

Execution

  • Lead development, technical implementation, and solution delivery (and documentation) across the Hold Co's existing enterprise systems: Shopify, Contentful, Netsuite, etc., and determine how they can be enhanced to support the growing needs of the business.
  • Supporting the full implementation life-cycle, from business requirements gathering, scoping to deployment, for digital projects and implementations.
  • Introduce and oversee a regular Q/A and User Testing processes.

General Management

  • Builds, coaches, and mentors the digital/ecommerce shared service team.
  • Act as executive sponsor of each brand-assigned Ecommerce Manager, ensuring strong communications between brand teams and their liaison.
  • Holds weekly meetings with the Digital Shared Services team to review and analyze brand level digital requirements to determine the prioritization of development activities, internal team issues, and planning for current and future enterprise development.
  • Conducts regular meetings with the brand's leadership team to understand brand level business strategies and priorities and working as a consultant and strategist help transform brand level functional/digital requirements into scalable enterprise solutions that align to the Hold Co "rules of the road."
  • Reviews and is accountable for meeting annual budget and projections for development, software and digital expenses (which are treated as pass through costs to each brand's P&L).
  • Accountable for understanding and meeting brand level success goals and KPIs especially conversion rate.
  • Partners closely with the CSO to support business growth across the enterprise.

Analytics And Reporting

  • Analyze business and site performance on a weekly basis across brands.
  • Create uniform reporting and business insights for all ecommerce sites and digital KPI's including; gross revenue, traffic, conversion, AOV, net metrics, returns, and LTV to ensure alignment with the enterprise digital KPIs
  • Develop and maintain robust customer journey flows per brand.
  • Create and maintain current and historical reporting for key KPI's while monitoring traffic and user behavior across brands.
  • Leverage analytics to optimize performance with a creative and analytical approach to online site merchandising and coordination with digital marketing efforts.
  • Develop, interpret and react to User testing and A/B testing strategies.

Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of related experience
  • Experience in leading solution delivery efforts in an agile environment with an external development team.
  • Ability to achieve results and maintain adherence to hold co priorities through influence rather than direct control.
  • Natural change agent, possessing the determination to succeed in a fast-pace environment.
  • Leadership and people management experience with an emphasis on goal setting and training.
  • Expertise in Shopify and Netsuite required.
  • Experience working within multi-brand companies or agencies a major plus.
