Position Summary:

Tessera Therapeutics is seeking a highly motivated in vivo scientist with robust experience in drug discovery and development to help support our in vivo delivery discovery program teams. You will work with a cross-functional team to help to design the in vivo studies and have the primary responsibility for executing studies to optimize the delivery system of our Gene Writers to edit immune cells and stem cells in vivo.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate with a cross-functional team to design delivery system screening and execute in vivo studies for immune cells and hematopoietic stem cells.
  • Execute animal takedown, biopsy or tissue collection and sample processing.
  • Aid in the animal ordering and IACUC animal protocols establishment.
  • Contribute to other projects in the team, with in vivo and/or ex vivo

Qualifications:

  • B.S. in Biology, Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or related life sciences field with at least 2-4 years of industry or academic experience required.
  • Robust experience with intravenous (IV), intraperitoneal (IP) and subcutaneous (SQ) injections of laboratory rodents.
  • Experience with animal takedown, tissue collection/processing, and PK/PD studies.
  • Experience working with in vivo delivery agents, include virus-based or virus-free, for gene editing, mRNA or RNAi based therapies is desirable.
  • Experience with bone marrow conditioning regimens and/or animal models of cell/gene therapy is desirable.
  • Experience with experimental tools such as FACS, ELISA, RT-PCR etc. is a plus.
  • Excellent organizational skills and proficiency in multi-tasking in an extremely fast-paced environment with both competing and shifting priorities.
  • Experience maintaining an electronic laboratory notebook and following protocols, familiarity with programs such as Excel and Prism for data entry and analysis.
  • Team player with excellent oral and written communication skills and "do-what-it-takes" attitude.
