HotSpot is seeking an Associate Scientist / Scientist with experience in independently developing and executing immunology-focused assays for the biology team. This person will be responsible for the development of complex immunological and molecular biology assays to interrogate our novel, allosteric compounds that have unique pharmacological and biological properties. A successful track record of developing cell-based assays for immunology is required, while experience using primary cells is a plus.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Develop and execute in vitro and ex vivo studies to explore the functional properties and efficacy of hotspot compounds with immunology-focused assays in human and rodent samples
· Deliver high-quality results in a fast-paced setting
· Perform chiefly in a hands-on laboratory setting with additional interactions with CROs and remote sites
· Analyze data and prepare presentations for diverse audiences, including colleagues in project teams and senior management
QUALIFICATIONS:
· BS or MS in Immunology, Biology, or other related discipline with at least 3 years relevant experience in an academic or pharma/biotech setting
· General assay development and validation experience for small molecule drug discovery
· Hands-on expertise with cell-based immunology assays with diverse readouts
· Experience in cell culture, western blotting, ELISA, immunoprecipitation, qPCR, Nanostring, MSD, AlphaLISA, reporter cell lines, PBMC isolation, and magnetic cell sorting are all highly desired
· Experience with multicolor flow cytometry of cell lines, rodent samples, and/or human primary samples
· Excellent data analysis, communication, and presentation skills
· Motivated, execution-focused, and team-oriented
