What will you do?

As the lead producer of the OSF Innovation & Strategy department, the Associate Producer reports directly to Scarlett Kim, Director of Innovation & Strategy. OSF’s Innovation & Strategy department, in an interconnected ecosystem with Artistic Programming and New Work departments, embodies OSF Artistic Director Nataki Garrett’s multimodal, intersectional vision. The Associate Producer leads the producing of a majority of the I&S project slate, from curation, to development, to production, to distribution. Centering artists and IDEA practices in every area of their work, Associate Producer artistically produces bespoke artistic projects and nurtures strategic partnerships.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions**):

1. Center IDEA practices in every step of the work and be a leader and amplifier of OSF Artistic Director Nataki Garrett’s vision for creating a radically accessible space at the intersection of theatre and technology. Attends Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion, (ED&I) sexual harassment, and any other anti-bias training and workshops as scheduled by the institution. Model and support the mission and values.

2. Serve as lead producer for the Innovation & Strategy department:

a. Serve as lead producer for various I&S projects spanning live theatre, film, XR/VR/AR, streaming, immersive/interactive experiences, podcasts, and other transmedia projects on O! Digital Stage and in-person, on OSF campus and beyond

b. Collaborate closely with Producers and Production Managers across OSF’s Artistic department

c. Oversee departmental administrative processes including contracting, budgeting, and project management

d. Act as an Innovation & Strategy contact for OSF artists and partners including but not limited to artists, creative technologists, actors, designers, creative team members, stage management, and technology partners.

e. Act as an Artistic Department conduit for administrative collaborators (Marketing, Development, Finance, IT, etc.)

f. Manage artist relations and partnerships with theatre, arts/culture, and technology entities across industries

g. Lead R&D on cutting-edge XR, new media technology, and accessibility practices.

h. Manage O!, OSF’s transmedia platform and fourth official programmatic venue.

3. Other duties as assigned.


Supervision Received: This position reports to the Associate Artistic Director / Director of Innovation & Strategy, and will receive supervision from Artistic Director, Associate Artistic Director / Director of Artistic Programming and Associate Artistic Director / Director of New Work.

Minimum Qualifications & Skills:

Work Experience: Eight years of experience in one or more of the following areas: theatre; XR/VR/AR; immersive technologies; art and technology; visual and performing arts; film/TV; or equivalent work experience.

Qualifications/skills:

  • Strong administrative, leadership, and organizational skills to thrive in fast-paced, evolving circumstances with competing priorities
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong knowledge across technology platforms, including competency around Microsoft products, project management software, and visual assets creation and management

Physical Ability: No requirements.

Other Skills, Ability and/or Knowledge: Respects and maintains confidentiality. Avoids situations and actions that present a conflict of interest or a conflict with the organizational values.

Minimum Position Requirements: Regular and consistent attendance.

Hours Requirements: 40/hrs. a week, ability to work schedule that fluctuates.

Preferred Qualifications & Skills: BA/BFA or higher degree in Theater, Visual Art, Film, Media Art, Immersive Technologies, or equivalent professional experience.

Pay rate: $82,500 - $88,000 annually
