Position Overview- Associate Partner, Public Affairs
Associate Partners at Dentons Global Advisors are the drivers of our teams with a sophisticated handle on how policy and business intersect. They have a deep understanding of the advocacy tools available to advance a client’s business objectives, including digital outreach, online and traditional media and coalition building. They manage junior team members’ work, are strong culture-setters and are trusted client counselors operating in a fast-paced environment. Associate Partners have the opportunity to apply their experiences and insights to critical, global issues for our clients and will play a significant role in shaping our firm.

In this role, you will:
Provide expert strategic advice to leading companies and multinational organizations, helping them to navigate significant threats to their enterprise value and reputation, including major legislative or regulatory change
Work in teams that may include U.S. government relations professionals, legal experts from DGA’s partner firm, Dentons, and members of our international offices
Serve as a primary client advisor and oversee junior team’s work product on simultaneous engagements that are complex and multijurisdictional
Leverage your network of stakeholders key to the policy and regulatory environment, including DC-based think tanks, trade organizations and NGOs, to deliver impactful solutions for clients
Identify and lead business development initiatives
Manage DGA team members, support team members’ professional development and work to identify additional development opportunities
Expectations of a DGA Associate Partner:
Significantly contribute to and drive public affairs strategy for clients
Develop junior talent and provide support and mentorship to junior team members
Maintain and expand internal and external networks, staying on top of major policy trends
Contribute to thought leadership pieces, marketing activities, and other relevant events
Originate and win new mandates
Contributing to DGA’s own ESG agenda
Effectively utilize research and innovative tools to the benefit of clients and the team
Bring DGA’s full potential to engage with clients on their most complex issues
Think and act in a collaborative, creative, and integrated way

Basic Qualifications
:
Bachelor’s degree or higher or equivalent and relevant work experience; sector expertise a plus
9+ years of experience in public affairs, advocacy campaigns, politics/government, strategic communications and/or from a consultancy or relevant in-house position, or the capabilities of someone of that level of experience
Experience working in or with teams in government affairs or similar policy or external relations roles
Experience working with media and/or online content
Highly collaborative working style
