Attention All New Engineering Graduates! Are you looking for a newly created opportunity that will allow you to become familiar with multiple engineering disciplines early in your career? The candidate hired for this position will rotate through design, test, warranty, and manufacturing engineering in their first 2 - 2.5 years at ConMet. Each rotation is planned to last roughly six months and will provide in-depth experience for the respective discipline.

This role requires working in an office environment (not hybrid or remote) at ConMet's corporate headquarters in Vancouver, Washington. Preference will be made to local candidates.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Engineering support for analyzing and improving the efficiency of new and existing manufacturing operations.
• Performs engineering work associated with developing new products and maintaining existing products per internal and external customer requirements.
• Directs activities concerned with design and development of protective packaging containers.
• Responsible for evaluating, designing, establishing, and maintaining processes. Contributes to the configuration of manufacturing systems to improve performance, process capability, and develop best practices within the production process while maintaining and improving quality standards.
• Assists in verifying conceptual designs and validating products utilizing a strong mechanical aptitude, analytical competence and proficient writing and communication skills. Supports the design and construction of new test machines and fixturing for structural component testing.
• Provide detailed secondary inspections of failed parts as necessary. Support the Warranty Inspection Team, which is responsible for the receipt, primary analysis, and tracking of failed parts returned under warranty claims for ConMet’s wheel end components, plastics, and castings products.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering
• Knowledge of mechanical design principles, finite element analysis, engineering documentation, statistical analysis, and quality systems

Compensation & Benefits

• Base salary range: new hires generally start between $79,400 - $99,000. Placement based on qualifications and professional experience. Entire salary range $79,400 - $119,000. Placement based on factors including qualifications, professional experience, and location.
• Targeted annual bonus based on company performance metrics as defined by Amsted Business Unit Incentive Plan is determined by position and experience levels.
