Overview:
Symbria has an outstanding opportunity for an entry-level Associate Staff Accountant I to add to our growing Finance Team at our corporate offices in Warrenville, IL. As our Associate Staff Accountant, you will prepare journal entries, analyze financial information, and prepare financial statements for multiple companies in a timely and accurate manner and completion of other special projects, as assigned.

This is a hybrid role, working from home and occasionally in office in Warrenville, IL. Training will be onsite. Therefore, you will need to be able to commute easily to Warrenville, IL corporate office.
Responsibilities:
  • Timely and accurate creation and entry of journal entries for multiple entities monthly based on analysis of source documents.
  • Reconciliation of balance sheet accounts monthly.
  • Financial analysis projects as assigned from finance management team.
  • Communication with management and field employees to ensure accurate distribution of expenses among entities and proper accruals.
  • Responsible for accurate and timely verification of coding of all accounts payable invoices, ensuring all shared invoices are allocated correctly between entities, and proper back-up is kept for these entries.
  • Responsible for review of all entities’ monthly bank reconciliations.
  • Assist with preparation for annual audits and interact with external auditors.
  • Assist with compiling information to complete annual budgets.
  • Learn accounting procedures and software to efficiently perform daily responsibilities.
  • Assist with special projects as determined by the Finance management team.
  • Any and all duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, the ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily is necessary and the qualifications listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting.
  • 0-2 years of experience in accounting or finance.
  • Knowledge of accounting and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Proven ability to analyze financial data and prepare management reports, financial statements, and projections.
  • Knowledge of accounting software applications.
  • Proficient use of computers and Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, and Outlook. Knowledge of NetSuite is preferred.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, accurate and motivated, with good communication and problem-solving skills.
PREFFERED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Successful completion of CPA exams.
  • Working knowledge of NetSuite accounting software application.
  • 1-2 years of experience in accounting duties. Finance does not apply to this role.
