Responsibilities
This role requires an experienced manager and mentor to lead admissions. The ideal candidate should possess a strong understanding of admissions and have a proven track record of building and implementing results-oriented strategic recruitment and yield plans for both first year and transfer domestic enrollments. This role requires a collaborative leader who excels in building and nurturing relationships on and off campus to achieve SMC goals. Above all, the candidate will be a trusted guide and advisor to prospective students and their families.

1. Strategy and Execution: develop and implement a comprehensive recruitment and yield plan, including policies and procedures to ensure a smooth admissions process for prospective students. Review and evaluate admissions criteria, making recommendations where necessary. Analyze enrollment data and trends to inform admissions strategies and initiatives.Collaborate with stakeholders across campus to ensure the admissions process is aligned with SMC's overall mission and goals.

2. Supervisory: recruit and train qualified candidates for open admissions positions. Guide and support admissions staff performance, maintaining morale and focus so, together, the department achieves first year and transfer enrollment and diversity goals. Conduct department meetings.

3. Budget: manage admissions' budget, including planning and administration. Ensure return on investment is spent for recruitment and yield activities. Approve expenditures.

4. Communication: develop and maintain relationships with partners and stakeholders on and off campus to increase SMC visibility and awareness.Build a student pipeline through these organizations. Partner with MarCom and academic departments to build forward looking marketing collateral, campus/student stories, and recruitment/yield communication plans. Make sure all admissions websites are current, informative, and relevant.

5. Committee Member: serve on numerous campus committees as the admissions representative. Share information, advise, and make recommendations as a key member in the implementation of SMC's strategic plan.

Experience and Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: REQUIRED: Master's degree in a relevant field, such as higher education administration, marketing, or business administration
Experience: (years required and applicable field of experience): Minimum of 8 years of progressive leadership experience in admissions/higher education, with a proven track record of success in meeting enrollment goals
Skills/Abilities: (e.g. computer skills, written & verbal skills, trades, laws, procedures, technical) ? Experience managing, mentoring, and leading professional teams
Excellent communication, public speaking skills, and interpersonal skills
Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure
Demonstrated ability to work effectively and in highly collaborative manner
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain relationships with external partners
Ability to manage budgets and resources effectively
Tech savvy - strong proficiency in Technolutions Slate or similar CRM's
Knowledgeable and up-to-date on trends in admissions and higher education

Other Requirements: (e.g. travel, weekend/evening work)
