Job description
Holy Family Catholic Church, located in Davidsonville, Maryland, seeks candidates for a Youth Minister Assistant. This is a part-time position averaging 13-16 hours per week.
Job Responsibilities:
- Help to plan and implement activities to enable young people of the Pastorate to develop a deep relationship with God, share the Good News with others, and to help integrate young people into the life of the Pastorate.
- Work with Youth Director to motivate and engage Middle School and High School youth to the formation of adult and adolescent leaders and collaborate with them to ensure the ongoing vitality of youth ministry.
- Assist the Director of Youth to plan and implement in activities to prepare young people to understand and willingly receive the Sacrament of Confirmation. Including all related activities and retreats.
- Recommended for enrichment; attend AAYM (Anne Arundel Youth Ministers) every other month for lunch and APYM (Association of Professional Youth Ministers) about 4 times per year to collaborate with other Youth and Young Adult Ministers and Archdiocesan staff on planning and implementing activities. Attend monthly Pastoral and Staff meetings.
- Update social media outlets with Youth event news: Facebook, Webpage; Instagram, and any other appropriate outlet we might use
Job Requirements:
Qualifications:
- Practicing and devoted Catholic who is fully able to participate in the sacramental life of the Church
- High School diploma or GED
- Knowledge of Social Media outlets
- Good interpersonal communication skills. Ability to plan and capable to work independently
- Ability to motivate and inspire youth to stay involved with the Ministry
- Virtus trained and background cleared
