Rowman & Littlefield Publishing Group is looking for an Assistant Marketing Manager to support the marketing department in organizing and developing promotional campaign strategies for its robust book program. The successful candidate will work closely with, and under the direction of, the Executive Channel Manager and will work out of our headquarters in Lanham, Maryland. The most successful candidate will be responsible for all marketing duties for Bernan Press, an imprint of Rowman & Littlefield, and assist in the development and implementation of the overall marketing strategy through R&L's public library and consumer channels.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the creation and implementation of impactful marketing messages across all media including direct mail, digital communications and events
• Field author queries and coordinate print and digital promotional collateral for author's events.
• Assist in the implementation and coordination of seasonal book launch meetings.
• Promote R&L and Bernan Press products at library conferences and events annually (virtual and in-person)
• Routinely maintain marketing files and databases, research, and compile mailing lists, and assist with monthly reports.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field, book industry preferred
• Excellent promotional writing and verbal communications skills
• High level of detail orientation and ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects
• Ability to work on a team and independently
• Travel – 10%
