Position Summary:
Assists in managing the daily operations of The Family Place Resale Shop (RS). Responsible for coordinating merchandise displays, point of sale staffing, pricing and training. Provides marketing and sales support; identifies RS resource needs, and acts as a liaison between the RS and donors.

Key Responsibilities: _*

  • Coordinates sales and donation efforts, reviewing performance and needs.
  • Ensures an attractive, secure, clean, and convenient layout of sales floor and oversees the rotation of materials and merchandise.
  • Evaluates market trends and product pricing and adjusts as necessary.
  • Assists in interviewing, screening, and evaluating volunteer placements at the Resale Shop; communicates with community service organization liaisons.
  • Monitors daily workflow, individual performance and relieves employees and volunteers as needed.
  • Assists with training to ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Works with clients and staff to coordinate and processes vouchers for store merchandise.
  • Answers phone and correspondence in a courteous and polite manner and assists customers with merchandise questions and rings up store items.
  • Identifies and develops contacts for donated goods and services.
  • Tracks data and prepares timely and accurate reports to support the mission.
  • Coordinates donation drives for the Resale Shop, including the receipt, distribution, and reporting of donated goods/services.

Other Duties:

  • Serves as the Manager on Duty in the absence of the Resale Shop Manager.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements:
Associates degree or equivalent education through work experience. Demonstrated customer service and sales experience. Team-based work ethic with availability for flexible scheduling. Ability to prioritize and multi-task with ease.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: _*

  • Knowledge of retail sales, pricing and merchandise display.
  • Ability to coordinate logistics for donations.
  • Ability to work after hours or weekends.
  • Experience providing excellent customer and client service and an outgoing personality that enjoys customer interaction.

Mental and Physical Abilities: _*
The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 35 pounds.

Working Conditions:
The noise level in the primary work environment is usually moderate i.e., business office with computer printer, and light traffic. Lighting and temperature are adequate, and there are not hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may occasionally work outside and experience varying weather conditions.
