The Mailroom Assistant is an integral part of the mailroom operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the corporate mail room located in downtown Houston.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Handling/sorting incoming mail (two daily mail runs).
  • Processing outgoing mail and ensuring it meets postal regulations.
  • Sorting and logging air freight, motor freight.
  • Receiving and delivering office supplies.
  • Delivering beverages (soft drinks and water) to meetings as requested.
  • Stocking copy paper, water and soft drinks to Executive floors.
  • Assisting other departments with large and heavy boxes.
  • Assisting the Facilities group with move requests, furniture delivery, etc.
  • Accommodating after hours work when needed.
  • Assisting with IT equipment deliveries.
  • Assisting with conference rooms set up.
  • Providing additional assistance to the Executive floors when requested.

Qualifications

The successful candidate will meet the following qualifications:

  • High school education or equivalent.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Valid driver's license and good driving record.
  • Experience in a mailroom setting is preferred.
  • Must be organized and self-motivated.
  • Must be dependable, flexible and have a positive attitude.
  • Ability to communicate clearly, tactfully and professional with all internal and external customers.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
