Qualifications

• Must love plant life, be a positive, reliable person with a great attention to detail, willingness to learn, and work on an organic hemp farm.
• This position requires the extended and repetitive use of arms, hands, and fingers to cut/manipulate small objects
• Close visual focus required
• Must be able to stand for extended periods, lift objects on a regular basis, and perform daily repetitive tasks
• Ability to push, pull, stoop, grasp, walk, stand, bend, and reach for the duration of shift
• Operates with a high level of professionalism and integrity, including dealing with confidential information
• Adapts and thrives in a demanding, start-up, fast-paced environment
• Possesses a high level of critical thinking
• Highly motivated, self-directed, innovative and able to work independently or among teams with keen judgement, common sense, and resourcefulness
• Requires strong technical skills and familiarity with computers
• This position requires a great deal of standing, walking, bending, and reaching

Responsibilities

• Knowledgeable in basic principles of cultivation and adheres to organic SOPs
• Ensure plants are receiving proper illumination, irrigation, and organic nutrients
• Implement techniques related to cultivation; transplanting, pruning, defoliation, watering, feeding, harvesting, maintaining sterility, pest and disease control
• Assist with plant germination, propagation, and cloning efforts
• Assists with day-to-day cultivation activities and procedures in order to increase yields, efficiency, and overall performance
• Ensure plants are healthy and prepared for the flower process
• Performs all tasks set by management in a safe and efficient manner
• Other duties as assigned

Additional Requirements

• Must pass any and all required background checks
• Must be and remain compliant with all legal or company regulations for working in the industry
• Must possess valid driver's license
• Must be a minimum of 21 years of age
• Must have a High School Diploma
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds without assistance (200lbs assisted)

Job Types: Part-time, Contract

Pay: $300.00 - $480.00 per week

Schedule:

• Day shift
• Monday to Friday
• No nights
• Weekend availability

Supplemental pay types:

• Bonus pay

• Union Hall, VA 24176: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)

• Two questions: What is another way to describe bud rot and how would you help to eliminate it in a greenhouse or outdoor setting? Also, how would you help to eliminate spider mites? Both must include organic methods.

• High school or equivalent (Required)

Experience:

• Greenhouse: 1 year (Preferred)
• Growing: 1 year (Preferred)
