Our team of Assistant Editors is responsible for the organization of a high-volume of incoming/outgoing deliverables. Assistant Editors support our Editorial staff with A/V asset coordination, management, and quality control.

This is a union role. Current or future membership in Local 700 is required.

Responsibilities

• Media management: import/export, transcode, manage assets within Avid projects and on shared storage
• Build finish preps for internal/external finishing facilities: overcut/uprez picture and audio, EDLs/bins, graphics lists picture and audio preps, conforming sequences to final frame rate for deliverables
• Ensure editors have all materials needed, examples including scene and dialogue breakdowns, shot pulls and scene assemblies from dailies packages, VFX string outs for editorial and/or clients, locating sources for cheats/cobbles
• Create support documentation as needed when new workflows are deemed necessary in order to meet client expectations

Qualifications

• Strong working knowledge of AVID (2022 version) and NEXIS/ISIS project and user management
• Strong working knowledge of post-production workflows and procedures
• Ability to work quickly and efficiently under tight deadlines with strong attention to detail and organization
• Ability to identify and troubleshoot technical problems
• Basic knowledge of other NLEs (Adobe Premiere, DaVinci Resolve) is a plus, as well as Microsoft Office, specifically Excel and Word

Compensation + Benefits

Rate: $29.94/hr (Non-Exempt)

The actual pay rate offered will depend on a variety of factors, including applicant’s qualifications, years of relevant experience and geographic location. Total compensation package will also include other elements, including paid time off, subsidized health insurance (medical, dental, vision) and 401(k) participation plus company match.
