Program Supervisor Job Description

The Program Supervisor manages the center’s learning and activity program to ensure that practices meet the Washington Administrative Code (WAC). The Program Supervisor will ensure that the program aligns with company expectations and philosophy. The program must be varied and developmentally appropriate.

Requirements:

· Be at least twenty-one (21) years old or older

· Hold an ECE state certificate or equivalent

· Have two (2) years of experience teaching children enrolled into an early learning program

· Complete the applicable preservice requirements, pursuant to WAC 110-300-0105; renew an update annually as required

· Participate in yearly continued professional development and maintain documentation

· Register with MERIT

· Must understand and be familiar with the Washington Administrative Code (WAC)

· Must have strong communication skills, both written and verbal

· Ability to lift in excess of twenty (20) lbs.

· Ability to pass state and federal background check

· Valid Driver’s License

· Dress professionally following the guidelines of the management dress code

· Must have strong critical thinking skills and the ability to problem solve effectively and appropriately

Primary Tasks:

· Program Administration in accordance with the Washington Administrative Code and Early Achievers

· Maintain a professional and productive relationship with the Early Achievers Coach assigned to your facility, in partnership with the Center Director

· Supervise the day-to-day operations of classroom curriculum, daily schedules, and programs, outside of your scheduled teaching assignment

· Be responsible for the center in the absence of the Center Director, Assistant Director, or Floor Supervisor

· Conduct daily classroom training and maintain associated log, including staff signatures and dates, in partnership with the Center Director

· Spend a minimum of 20 hours weekly working within the classrooms

· Meet with staff weekly to assist with curriculum needs

· Conduct regular classroom observations, document, and develop training based on observation data

· Review teacher requests for supplies; work with the Operations Manager to fulfill requests, in partnership with the Center Director

· Work confidently with staff, children, and parents

· Participate in all parent meetings providing documentation and feedback as appropriate, in partnership with the Center Director

· Work directly with the Center Director on Behavior Plans and Individual Health Care plans to achieve the best student outcome

· Provide concrete, measurable information to support honest and accurate staff evaluations, in partnership with the Center Director

· Manage the classrooms as the first line supervisor and role model for the teaching staff

· Provide input to the Center Director regarding staffing and appropriate placement of staff

· Assist the Center Director in interviews of prospective employees as requested

· Provide staff orientation as requested

· Support the Center Director in maintaining staff files, ensuring they remain current and in compliance

· Conduct professional and informative parent tours as necessary or requested

· Monitor classroom and lobby informational boards; ensure they remain current and attractive, in partnership with the Center Director & Floor Supervisor

· Work as the primary Kindergarten Prep Teacher

· Van driving as needed, scheduled, or requested

· Keep detailed documentation of program supervisory responsibilities as required by the WAC

· Train, supervise, and motivate teaching staff; record all trainings, in partnership with the Center Director

· Work with all staff to develop and record their career path as required by the Washington State Administrative Code, in partnership with the Center Director

· Obtain and record all STARS numbers for each staff member, record all staff trainings and updates to licensing requirements, in partnership with the Center Director

· Maintain and document and record staff attendance, including tardies and absences, in partnership with the Floor Supervisor

· Attend and actively participate in management meetings as requested

· Review all parent communications generated by teaching staff, in partnership with the Center Director and Floor Supervisor

· Review accident reports, log, and file as necessary

· Inventory all classrooms, in partnership with the Floor Supervisor

· Keep classrooms appropriately stocked, according to interest areas, ages and stages and Early Achievers standards, in partnership with the Center Director

· Align your classrooms with the standard set by Early Achievers and support and manage your facility through each EA rating period

Assistant Director

Acting as the first line of support to the Center Director and the center. Your goals and support should align with company policies and in support of maintaining a positive reputation within our community. The goal of our management team is to achieve harmony and mutuality throughout the center, with respect, tolerance, patience, honesty, trust, and friendship.

Job duties include but not limited to:

(Operations)

· Ensure the center is opened and closed as scheduled

· Ensure smooth operations and adhere to all licensing WAC & RCW

· Be available to your center as necessary, be prepared to open and close your facility

· Be prepared to cover staff shortages, coming in early or staying late as necessary

· Be a key player in staff management and labor reductions as needed

· Serve as classroom teaching staff as needed or scheduled

· Monthly fire drills & quarterly drills

· Monitor staff & quality checks, making hourly rounds when available

· Ensure staff receive breaks and lunches as scheduled

· Know all policies for enrollment, attendance, tuition contracts, DCYF enrollment and general policies as they pertain to enrollment

· Familiarize new parents with the policies and procedures of Spring Glen

· Support van transportation, as needed; maintain a current/valid Washington State Driver’s license

· Support the Director in providing bus driver training, test drives, etc.

· Manage waiting lists effectively to keep the center full

· Give informative and professional tours in the absence of the Center Director

· Answer the phone professionally and attentively

· Work with Center Director in arranging staff schedules for proper placement according to enrollment, knowledge, and experience

· Manage COSTCO grocery lists, pantry inventory to avoid wastefulness and pilfering

· Perform all duties assigned by the Center Director

· Take responsibility of the center in the absence of the Center Director

(Compliance)

· Educate yourself and understand the WAC and the necessary procedures to remain in compliance

· Ensure the center operates in accordance to Health and Safety regulations

· Work to keep buses clean and in good working condition

(Administrative)

· Support the Center Director in review of timecards and ensure payroll is available within the required time frame

· Keep a log of accident reports, monitor and file

· Support the Center Director in all fiscal aspects of the center, tuition, invoices, payments, tax information, account aging, adjustments, late fees, and collections

· Record and monitor meal count to maintain compliance with the USDA Food Program

· Turn in meal counts and center menus at the end of each week

· Daily attendance

· Monitor required classroom forms for completeness

· Support the Center Director in managing subsidy approvals and terminations

· Utilize tour slips and follow procedures for follow up

· Prepare for, and ensure a successful study month by collecting all EIA forms in a thorough and timely manner

(General)

· Attend and participate in management meetings as requested

· Complete and submit lists for maintenance needs to keep your center in good repair

· Work professionally with outside vendors, creating positive relations

· Work professionally with all third party contracted care referrals, following policies set for customer care

· Support the Center Director in maintaining an organized and tidy office environment

· Participate actively in marketing and community outreach projects and events

· Perform all duties assigned by the Center Director

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $22.78 - $30.29 per hour
