Albright College is seeking applications for an anticipated opening for Assistant Director of Financial Aid. This position will assist the Director and Associate Director of Financial Aid in the general operation of the Financial Aid Office so that it meets federal and state compliance regulations. Provide professional service to students to promote their understanding and access to financial aid opportunities. Candidate must demonstrate a commitment to enhancing equity and inclusion within the team and across a culturally diverse campus while celebrating people of all statuses and identities.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Assist in the counseling, and aid in the packaging of the School of Professional Studies and Graduate aid programs.
  • Manage/complete federal verification of FAFSA/ISIR data for all student populations.
  • Coordinate the tracking of SAP appeal notifications and collection of forms through Campus Logic. Assist the Directors with SAP appeal reviews.
  • Counsels students and families regarding the financial aid application process, aid eligibility, and financial aid award letter specifics.
  • Communicates and corresponds with families in response to email and telephone requests for information regarding financial aid and enrollment.
  • Responsible for the maintaining of the Policy and Procedures Manual to ensure compliance of federal, state and institutional regulations.
  • Provides effective presentations to on and off campus audiences.
  • Assist with audit preparation and resolutions.
  • Assist with monthly fund reconciliations as needed.
  • Others duties as assigned by the Director of Financial Aid.

Qualifications/Prerequisites:

COMMUNICATION

  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills.

SKILLS

  • Ability to work across college departmental/divisional lines.
  • Working knowledge of aid management systems - PowerFAIDS preferred.
  • Working knowledge of admission CRM systems - SLATE preferred.
  • Working knowledge of PHEAA State Grant system
  • Well-developed financial aid problem solving skill set
  • Working knowledge of admission recruiting in a tuition-driven enrollment environment.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced office environment

EXPERIENCE

  • At least three to five years of related experience in a college or university financial aid office
  • Working knowledge of all Title IV and state aid program regulations.
  • Experience in financial aid counseling and enrollment management strategic planning.
  • Demonstrated commitment to building an inclusive and equitable Albright community, as described in Albright College’s Inclusivity and Equity Statement.

  • Bachelor’s degree required
