Position Purpose:Assist the Director of Finance-Controller in the supervision of the Finance office and with various projects. Ensure the financial reporting requirements are completed in accordance with the company standards of quality and performance. This position will also assist with other properties in the DE portfolio as needed.

Essential Functions:
  • Manage and direct the performance of the Finance staff, to include team member relations, meetings, supplies, disciplinary action, and special projects. Ensure staff is motivated and trained to adequately perform at the expected level. Direct responsibility for Accounts Receivable, Credit and Night Audit staff.
  • Prepare budget and maintain controls on spending to ensure budgetary limits are met. Prepare Annual Depreciation schedules for furniture, equipment, building supplies, revisions and alterations.
  • Review and approve all ledger account reconciliations to include; bank statements, assets liabilities and credit cards. Coordinate and review monthly financial statements for accuracy. Monitor coding of cash receipts.
  • Assist Director of Finance-Controller in internal daily audits of cash deposits, transfers and the preparation/monitoring of the Capital budget. Prepare financial reports on a weekly and monthly basis.
  • Review and approve tax returns to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations. Prepare the utilities and telephone accruals monthly. Monitor records of inventory to control accuracy of supply distribution. Ensure corporate compliance with all billing and credit standards. Sign food and beverage disbursement checks.
  • Monitor, approve and prepare daily payroll accounts and issue all paychecks.
Supportive Functions: In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions, with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by the supervisor based upon the particular requirements of the company.
  • Assist with the month-end or year-end closing procedures.
  • Assist the Finance office in any other administrative duties as needed.
  • Perform other special projects as assigned by the General Manager, Director of Finance and Corporate Finance.
  • Audit maintenance of payroll records.
Other Requirements: The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Ability to communicate orally and verbally in English with staff and outside entities
  • Ability to manage large staff
  • Ability to analyze large volume of complex financial information from many sources and create reports, forecasts projections
  • Basic understanding of complex computerized financial systems and ability to use it including manual dexterity to operate all office machines
  • Knowledge of various computer programs, such as Word and Excel
  • Detail oriented and organized
  • Ability to effectively deal with guest and team members concerns in a friendly and positive manner, listening to the nature of the concern, demonstrating empathy with the customer/team member and providing positive and proactive solutions
  • Knowledge of Uniform System of Accounting
  • Previous Hotel Experience preferred
Education:
  • High School graduate or equivalent required
  • Four year related college degree preferred
