The Assistant Director, Learning and Organizational Development is responsible for the design, development, delivery, and evaluation of professional development, leadership development and DEI programs that accelerate learning, engages employees, and delivers excellence throughout the hospital. The Assistant Director, Learning and Organizational Development will act as an organizational development resource by working with all levels of leadership, Subject Matter Experts, and staff to assess company-wide people programs (formal and informal) and recognize performance improvement opportunities to build organizational capabilities and workforce performance.

This position is currently hybrid with 80% onsite. The Assistant Director is expected to attend in-person events as requested and to provide learning opportunities in a variety of formats, including fully remote, fully in-person, and hybrid.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities Includes the Following:

  • Help to lead the design, development, and implementation of innovative and high impact learning programs with a specific emphasis on the following: Professional & leader skills improvement, Diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) learning content, and Leadership development at all levels.
  • Strategize and deploy different types of learning methods and training techniques including blended learning approaches that meet the changing needs of the workforce, through in-person, virtual, video-based eLearning lessons. Incorporate key training principles to effectively design and implement consistent training programs and materials.
  • Perform needs assessments and gap analysis to inform development plans and learning objectives, partnering with HR Business Partners and other stakeholders.
  • Develop development programs for new and emerging leaders and facilitate training programs in the leadership and professional curriculums for employees and managers at all levels of the organization.
  • Provide coaching to leaders on the effective utilization of development tools such as job assignments, job rotations, assessments, development programs, training, and coaching and mentoring.
  • Serve as a member of the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion committee
  • Assist in the development of new courses and periodically update existing training content as appropriate, monitors version control.
  • Be a change agent for the hospital by positively influencing the culture through educational programs and informal interactions.

Education & Experience Requirements

  • Required: Master’s degree in Human Resources Management, Adult Education, Organizational Development, I/O Psychology, Business, or a related field.
  • Required: 5 - 8 years of experience in managing, designing, developing and delivering training, coaching, onboarding, DEI initiatives, leadership and professional development.
  • Preferred: At least 3 years in healthcare education and training.
  • Preferred: Professional Organization Development and Trainer certifications such as Myers-Briggs Type Indicator®, DDI, Crucial Conversations or other renowned products and tools.
  • Strong presentation, facilitation skills, written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal skills and the ability to influence at all levels within the organization.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities while balancing quality with on-time delivery
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office products; MSWord, PowerPoint, Excel
  • A demonstrated ability to learn quickly, adapt to a variety of environments, and take responsibility and accountability for projects is also required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $110,000.00 per year
