Job description
This position, part of the Finance & Accounting Division, conducts a variety of special projects for the Senior Associate Controllers and University Controller as needed to support Finance & Accounting. The incumbent analyzes and evaluates business processes, recommends actions to streamline processes, and identifies opportunities to improve operational efficiencies for fiscal processes enterprise-wide.
The successful candidate will formulate policies, manage daily operations, and plan the use of facilities, resources, and personnel. They will assist in the analysis of the effectiveness of and establish future direction for functional policies and programs. In addition to performing process analysis and definition by dissecting problems and suggesting solutions, creates process change by integrating new processes with existing ones and communicates these changes to end users. Suggests plans to integrate new and existing processes and reviews current processes for efficiency and ability to meet changing business unit conditions. This position develops and recommends policies and coordinates the development, implementation, and interpretation of operating procedures.
$80,500 - $85,000 annually; commensurate with education and experience.
Master's degree in an appropriate area and two years of relevant experience; or a bachelor's degree in an appropriate area and four years of relevant experience.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office
- Experience with University of Florida operations is preferred
- Ability to work and maintain effective working relationships with others
- Understand, interpret, and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies and procedures
- Effectively communicate in writing and orally
- Complete work according to scheduled deadlines
- Work with limited supervision
- Utilize problem solving techniques and to work independently
