Assists with the audit of claims presented for payment through accounts payable and ensures that payments made to vendors comply with bid documents, contracts, county policies, and state statutes.

- Reconciles accounts to general ledger and prepares journal entries.
- Monitors expenditures of specific funds and departments.
- Monitors information from other departments for accurate presentation in financial statements.
- Assists departments with proper accounting procedures and compliance with state statues, County policy and procedures.
- Prepares reports, work papers and schedules for external entities including external auditors.
- Monitors and reconciles selected accounts.
- Analyzes information from departments to detect potential error and problems.
- Performs all other related duties involved in the operation of the department as assigned or required.

TO APPLY, must have a Bachelor's degree or higher in business + One (1) full-time year accounting or auditing work experience
TO APPLY , must have a High School diploma or GED + Five (5) full-time years of accounting or auditing work experience.
TO APPLY, must have a current and valid driver license. Note: A Texas driver license is required to hold the position.
CPA is preferred.
Position must have the ability to collect and analyze financial data and draw logical conclusions.
If hired, must provide proof of educational attainment
at New Hire Processing or during the promotional process.
