Job Description:

Assemblers/Testers perform sub and final assembly of a variety of products, often using assembly jigs and fixtures to maintain tolerances. They work from drawings, routing sheets and work instructions to follow the specific methods and procedures of each assembly and can use hand tools and/or simple machine tools to perform operations and assembly functions. Testing requires the set up and monitoring of automated assembly or test equipment.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma and at least two years of experience with the assembly of machined components.
  • Proficient use of precision measurement instruments, specialized trade tools, and equipment.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and use of simple mathematical skills.
  • Ability to concentrate daily, which involves; mental attention, finger dexterity, eye/hand coordination, and concentrated visual acuity.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform sub and final bench assembly of a variety of standard products.
  • Work from simple drawings, routing sheets, and work instructions to apply the specific methods and procedures of each assembly or test operation.
  • Set up and use bench-type power and hand tools, and/or simple machine tools to perform operations and assembly functions.
  • Use various measuring instruments such as thread gauges, pin gauges, micrometers, microscopes, dial indicators, and dial verniers to check work and maintain quality.
  • Set up and monitor automated assembly or test equipment.
