Northrop Grumman Mission Systems sector is seeking Assemblers to join our team in Buffalo, New York. This facility is focused on the development and production of innovative Electronic Warfare Simulation Systems solutions; and this team has focused assembly cells which support other Northrop Grumman operations and products.

What You’ll Get to Do:

The Assembler will perform fine pitch soldering of circuit card assemblies, intricate wire harnesses and small RF components under a stereo zoom microscope. In this role you’ll work from diagrams, drawings, and work instructions to meet customer needs. The Assembler will do continuity checks and quality inspections on work in process and completed work within the processing line. May disassemble, modify, rework, reassemble, and test experimental or prototype assemblies and subassemblies according to specifications and under simulated conditions.

The chosen candidate will receive in-house learning workmanship training classes. This position may perform actions in Manufacturing areas including: Circuit Card Assembly (CCA), Microelectronics Production Center (MPC), Electronic Component Assembly/Rack (ECA/Rack), or Magnetics depending on the business need or workload capacity.

This position is a great fit for someone who enjoys working in a team environment, can perform tasks under a microscope on very small assemblies; has a high level of attention to detail and quality; and a proven track record of being able to flex between job responsibilities.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 4 years of assembly or electronic experience; or an Associate’s degree in an electronic or technical discipline plus 2 years of assembly or electronic experience
  • Soldering experience.
  • Ability to perform tasks from written directions and drawings.
  • Ability to move objects weighing up to 10 pounds from one location to another.
  • Ability to wear basic PPE (Personal Protection Equipment), such as gloves, safety glasses, etc. as noted in process requirements.
  • U.S. citizenship


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Soldering experience at a Class 2 level
  • Previous or current certifications in IPC-610 and/or J-STD 001.
  • Ability to perform tasks under microscope on very small assemblies with outstanding manual dexterity and precision.
  • Prior microelectronics and/or chip and wire assembly experience.
  • Prior automated equipment skills such as Surface Mount Technology (SMT), MRSI and/or wedge bonding equipment
  • Ability to learn and perform tasks independent of continuous guidance, assistance, and supervision
  • Demonstrated success in working in a team environment and strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to provide positive customer service interaction and perform assembly tasks while traveling to customer sites
  • Ability to perform tasks requiring semi-rigid cabling and building assemblies which require semi-rigid wiring
  • Willingness to travel
  • Willing to work second shift if necessary

MANUMS


Salary Range: $43,200 USD - $72,000 USD


Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
