Armed Security Officer
Job description
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
Experience and Training:
- 1-2 years of experience in a public safety position (public safety / security officer, police officer, firefighter / EMT) or comparable military service preferred
Knowledge:
- Microsoft Office applications
- Ten-Codes
- Excellent communicate skills to provide service in a friendly, calm, professional manner to all internal and external customers in situations which may be stressful, tense and ambiguous.
- Good command of the English language to file and compose paperwork.
Valid driver’s license- Valid Illinois Firearm Owner Identification (FOID) Card
- State of Illinois 40-Hour Armed Security Officer Certification (Semi-Automatic firearm)
- State of Illinois Firearm Control Card (issued after hire and upon arrival from State of Illinois)
- CPR Certification
- CPI Certification (completed upon hire)
- Must obtain IAHSS Basic Certified Healthcare Security Officer within six months of appointment.
- Must complete required FEMA ICS 100 and 200 level courses within six months of appointment.
- Job Type/FTE: 1.00 FTE
- Shift: 12 hr, Two week rotating schedule; 6:00am-630pm and 6:00pm-6:30am.

Must comply with Ingalls Memorial Hospital's COVID-19 Vaccination requirement as a condition of employment. If you have already received the vaccination, you must provide proof as part of the pre-employment process. This is in addition to your compliance with the Flu Vaccination requirement as well. Medical and religious exemptions will be considered consistent with applicable law. Lastly, a pre-employment physical, drug screening, and background check are also required for all employees prior to hire.
