Trust Consulting Services is looking to immediately hire Armed Security Guards for the following shifts: Monday to Friday, 6 am to 2 pm, 2 pm to 10 pm, and 10 pm to 6 am.
. The Armed Security Guard will be supporting the operations at Martin’s State Airport, located in Middle River, Maryland. The Armed Security Guard will be assisting the 175 SFS personnel in the performance of security, resource protection, and law enforcement duties.

Qualifications

  • Authorized to work in the United States of America
  • At least 21 years of age
  • Must be able to pass a background check
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment and random drug screening
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of (1) year of continuous experience providing armed security guard services
  • Physically capable of performing duties required
  • Physically and mentally sound
  • Physically able to climb stairs, free of any hearing impairment
  • Must have vision corrected to 20/20 in one eye and 20/30 in the other
  • Must be capable of exercising judgment and acting quickly in an emergency
  • Be of such temperament and maturity that they shall be able to function under physical threats and verbal abuse without taking such behavior personally
  • Be polite, respectful, patient, understanding, able to adapt to challenging situations, and able to treat the public in a courteous and effective manner.
  • Must have the ability to effectively communicate, read, write, and understand instructions in English


Guard Appearance Qualifications:


  • Guards shall present a neat, clean, and professional appearance.
  • Armed contract security guard personnel will use the following guidelines for males:
    • Neatly trimmed hair with no “ponytails” or unusual haircuts (i.e., mohawks, unnaturally dyed hair color, etc.).
  • A neatly groomed appearance, trimmed beards, and goatees, not to exceed two (2) inches in length, and/or an appropriately groomed mustache is authorized.
  • Armed contract security guard personnel will use the following guidelines for females:
    • Females’ hair will be a natural color, with a neat and orderly appearance (long hair in a bun, braids, ponytail, or similar style) that minimizes loose strands and does not interfere with their duties.
  • Nails will be of a length that allows for the execution of duties and color that is either a neutral or neutral shade.
  • Jewelry will be limited to one set of simple earrings in the lowest lobe hole and a single religious necklace and will not interfere with duties or appear unprofessional.
  • Guard uniforms shall always be worn properly and be maintained neat, clean, wrinkle-free, and in a good state of repair. Equipment shall always be kept in good working condition and in full gear while on a post. The awarded Contractor shall replace uniforms that do not conform to this standard.
  • Failure to follow uniform or grooming standards may require immediate on-the-spot correction or result in an individual being relieved of duty. The Contract Monitor or designated representative shall exercise final judgment authority over uniform and appearance standards.


Responsibilities:

  • Carry out oral and written instructions
  • Instruct others on necessary rules, duties, and functions
  • Meet and deal professionally, courteously, and effectively with the public
  • Implement general safety precautions and fire protection methods
  • Prepare clear, concise, complete, and accurate written reports
  • Operate telephone and radio communications
  • Determine the identity and business of visitors, vendors, tenants, and base personnel
  • Maintain integrity and confidentiality throughout the length of the Contract
  • Demonstrate proper use and safe handling of firearms
  • Safeguard persons and property
  • Direct and instruct the general public, armed forces members, visitors, and other base tenants
  • Summon emergency fire/ambulance/medical assistance using emergency contact numbers
  • Use government property, including keys entrusted to his/her responsibility notify the Wing POC, and maintain control of the scene until relieved by SFS during emergencies or authorized services have arrived to handle the situation
  • Detain suspects as necessary within the jurisdictional limitations of the ANG base in accordance with the applicable provisions of law, regulations, and local procedures
  • Appear and testify on behalf of the ANG in courts, hearings, appeals, or other legal proceedings if needed. Such appearances may or may not be in addition to work shifts
  • Maintain the cleanliness of their work area and equipment
  • Provide security measures within the jurisdiction to combat potential threats to resources against sabotage, terrorism, subversion, and attacks by hostile forces as necessary. Guards shall control entry to the installation and specific areas inside the installation
  • Enforce standards of conduct and adherence to applicable laws and regulations within the ANG’s area of responsibility
  • Use security equipment such as electronic explosive detectors, electronic access card scanners, and personnel and vehicle searching equipment (search mirrors and handheld wands)
  • Safely and effectively perform daily weapon-clearing barrel procedures
  • Use of tobacco products is confined to those areas which the government has designated as smoking areas. There shall be no smoking or smokeless tobacco use inside any government facility
  • Refrain from alcohol consumption eight (8) hours prior to their shift, and not report to duty under the influence of any alcohol or narcotic
  • Utilize cell phones only when their use does not interfere with guards’ assigned duties. Cell phones shall not be utilized while manning gate/overwatch positions
