Troy CSL Lighting is a growing company seeking a Product Manager, who would work hand and hand with Sales, Engineering, Operations and Marketing to bring to market Downlights and Architectural Grade Point Source lighting products. Through researching market trends, competitive products, and new technology; you would develop a business plan which communicates, must have/nice to have/market gap specifications, competitive analysis, SWOT analysis (Strength, Weakness, Opportunity, and Threats), Estimated Sales Volume, Target Prices/Cost of Goods, and Estimated Return on Investment. In addition, while collaborating with Sales act as the voice of the customer to guide the design, launch and the build of exceptional product.

Responsibilities:

Strategy and Plan

  • Develop a full understanding of Downlights and Architectural Grade Point Source lighting market and products
  • Research to identify market, installer, lighting designer and other individual product/customer service/quality needs
  • Create a strong strategy and roadmap for future growth with a winning plan
  • Outline major product, market, and customer trends
  • Create product requirements based on market needs and good business to guide the design for the right product
  • Perform competitive product analysis, user research, and determine how to drive new market opportunities with technology and great product
  • Review and analyze product pricing; Provide target costs and projected sales
  • Test and validate products with markets

Execute

  • Be the voice of the customer during product development to mitigate risk and solve problems as they happen during the development process
  • Achieve successful product launch plans to expand sales, customer satisfaction, and brand quality
  • Communicate with cross-functional groups to ensure customer and company needs are met

Sustain

  • Own products from cradle to grave
  • Train inside sales, external sales teams, and other resources on current and new product
  • Focus communication for any product questions or guidance
  • Assist tech support with training, demos, and ongoing support for current and new product
  • Manage product lifecycles with comprehensive phase in/phase out plans

Skills/Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Merchandising, Business, or Engineering with a passion for technical design and innovation
  • Experience in the lighting industry
  • Strong project management, business, problem solving and leadership skills
  • Capable of effectively working and communicating with a cross-functional teams
  • Intellectually curious, process-focused, problem solver that is self-driven, organized, and collaborative
