Kobo Products, Inc. located in South Plainfield, NJ is seeking an organized, self-motivated, and detail-oriented Applications Lab Supervisor to join our team. Salary is negotiable based on applicable experience.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Bioscience, or Biology required
- 5+ yrs. experience in formulating skin, sun, and hair care products including: sunscreens, lotions, shampoos, and conditioners; knowledge of formulations of lipsticks, foundations, pressed powders, and nail enamel is a plus
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong experience working with colors required
- Strong communication/presentation and multi-tasking skills
- Knowledge of making pressed powders, lipsticks, liquid foundations, sunscreens, shampoos and other cosmetic items
- Strong computer literacy skills on PowerPoint, Excel, and Word in order to work in the Kobo system
- Some domestic and international travel required to support tradeshows and customer visits (post ending of COVID safety restrictions)
Responsibilities Include:
- Develop new and innovative products to showcase Kobo’s raw materials
- Work with outside customers to formulate with Kobo’s raw materials
- Train new lab technicians & junior chemists the skill and art of cosmetic formulation
- Develop and make PowerPoint presentations for various events, customers, and Sales teams to show materials and products
- Set up procedures for manufacture and descriptions of formulas developed
- Work with R&D to test new raw materials for Kobo
- Help to develop patents for Kobo’s new materials
