Today, Piedmont Plastics is currently hiring for an Application Development Manager. This individual will manage a team of Application Developers performing a variety of programming and related assignments along with utilizing skills and best practices to guide the development team while supervising and prioritizing activities related to the design, development and implementation of systems and applications.

Along with the mentioned duties above, this role will:

  • Lead and manage a programming team at both the technical and personnel levels
  • Assist in the establishment and implementation of short- and long-term departmental goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures
  • Oversee and assist in the analysis, design, development, debugging, deployment, implementation, and maintenance of applications and plugins/extensions as needed
  • Translate between business requirements and technical/functional requirements
  • Oversee and assist in the optimization of programs and acts to correct deficiencies based on consultation with users and approval of supervisor
  • Work with end users to gain an understanding of new application requirements or modifications to existing programs
  • Handle and prioritize development requests and projects
  • Resolve questions of program intent, data input/output requirements, and inclusion of internal checks and controls
  • Oversee the writing and maintenance of documentation to describe program development, logic, coding, testing, changes, and corrections
  • Manage and enforce functional policies, procedures, and quality assurance best practices
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding the information being processed, stored or accessed
  • Document programming problems and resolutions for future reference

To be successful in this position, an ideal candidate will have:

  • A combination of the completion of a bachelor’s degree in information technology or computer science and/or 5 years of experience in the field
  • Familiarity with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures
  • Ability to take projects from concept to production. (Analysis, Design, Development, Testing, Rollout)
