This is a key management position within our organization in charge of all painting division production. This a a position with much responsibility and growth opportunity. The function of this position is to manage, mentor, and grow our production (apartment painters that work in Lansing MI and throughout Michigan on larger projects) team in skill set, ability, and quality. This person MUST have extensive experience in painting apartments (brush and roll) to be able to learn our way and train others on our system. They will assist with creating systems within the field operations for training, quality control, process documentation, SOPs, keeping up on safety plans, eventually scheduling and discipline. This will be a 30-40% administrative job and the remainder in the field painting, training, quality checking, and project managing. Daily painting will likely happen!

REQUIRES

- 5-10 years EXCLUSIVELY apartment and/or commercial painting (or in a similar role in another trade for 5+ years)

- Previous experience mentoring and growing a team

- Exceptional customer service

- Exceptional communication skills via dialogue in person, text, and email

- Clean background, reliable vehicle (we provide a monthly mileage stipend), and want to grow

- Previous experience with disciplinary coaching and counseling team members

- Hiring experience

- Proven record of exceptional quality proven through quality references

- Ability for daytime travel to Kalamazoo, Grand Rapids, Flint, and wherever our work takes us (company vehicle and gas provided for travel)

- Ability to adapt to our process, grow it, and teach it

The Production Manager position will report directly to the Managing Partner and Owner (eventually General Manager). The primary function of the Production Manager position is to oversee the production team and to cultivate and train team members. They will prevent production problems, create systems for efficiencies, plan project hours to profitability, maintain project timelines while properly communicating with the customers, and build skill set on the team. The expectation is that the Production Manager will be self-motivated, able to problem solve, have attention to detail, and possess excellent communication skills.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
