The Opportunity
Position Purpose
The Analyst role is an exciting opportunity to join the Asset Management team as it continues to drive property performance and financial expectations for Northland's extensive portfolio. Primary responsibilities will include assisting with asset management duties including modeling, client reporting, property valuation analysis, lease analysis, and special projects.
Essential Functions
The following list of essential job functions is not exhaustive and may be supplemented or changed as necessary.
- Assist with due diligence of new acquisitions, dispositions, and refinancing.
- Financial Analysis, market analysis, and preparation of presentations for management review.
- Prepare cash flow projections and discounted cash flow and valuation analysis of existing properties.
- Prepare annual budgets and cash flow projections for existing properties.
- Assist in development of asset management plans for the multifamily portfolio.
- Work closely with Associate Vice President of Asset Management on various Asset Management initiatives.
- Create and analyze financial spreadsheets.
- 10-20% travel required.
About You
Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or a business-related field with at least a year of relevant experience OR the equivalent combination of experience and education is required.
- Experience in accounting or finance within the real estate industry is preferred. Proficiency in Excel is required.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to explain finance/accounting concepts to non-finance team members.
- Great attention to detail with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects.
- The ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities under tight timelines.
- Must be adaptable and able to travel based on business need.
