- In conjunction with the Portfolio Manager, identify and evaluate investments for multiple fixed income portfolios, consistent with portfolio return objectives and risk profiles. Execute $600+ million buy/sell transactions annually in a manner that minimizes transaction costs and market impact.
- Under direction of the Portfolio Manager, evaluate the influence of market, economic and industry changes on the Company’s assets. Monitor existing $2.5+ billion corporate, private placement, agency and municipal bond portfolio to manage credit and risk exposure at the individual investment and portfolio level.
- Collaborate with accounting, asset-liability, actuarial, treasury and senior management to ensure portfolios are meeting return, risk, business and regulatory priorities.
- Develop quantifiable deal flow that meets the Company’s investment objectives
Requirements:
- Background in credit analysis, investment research, all types of fixed income securities, including trading and settlement
- Experience implementing portfolio construction and risk management practices; life insurance investment experience preferable
- Knowledge of banking, cash management and trust systems
- Proficiency with PC Windows-based software systems, such as -, Bloomberg, FactSet, and other quantitative tools
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Strong analysis and interpretation skills
- Knowledge of insurance investment accounting, regulatory authority and ratings
- Position is based in New York City, must be willing to work on-site in New York
