Alumni Relations and Stewardship Officer 1, Development and Alumni Relations

Our Current Opportunity in Development and Alumni Relations

Following the record-breaking success of A Greater Penn State for 21st Century Excellence— the University’s recently concluded $2.2 billion fundraising campaign— a Stewardship Officer is needed to support the Division of Development and Alumni Relations in the Office of Donor Relations and Special Events.

Reporting to the Associate Director, Stewardship this Stewardship Officer will:

  • Lead group and 1:1 eSteward training sessions and maintain training resources on a SharePoint site and Penn State’s Learning Resource Network (LRN). Manage scheduling, registration, and training center reporting of eSteward training sessions.
  • Articulate Penn State’s needs, ambitions, and values, including diversity, equity, and inclusion, through excellent informal and formal communications.
  • Assist in supporting the network of 40+ stewardship coordinators at the unit-level as well as answering assigned inbound questions through the stewardship@psu.edu help desk.
  • Collaborate with the eSteward programming team to provide feedback on system development as well as troubleshooting any functionality issues.
  • Manage and maintain eSteward user access including maintenance of stewardship contacts lists and periodic audit of user access.
  • Create and distribute the DRSE monthly memo to the university-wide stewardship network. Assist in sending stewardship communications via Listserv.
  • Provide support for key stakeholder offices at Penn State impacted by donor stewardship efforts.

This position typically requires a bachelor’s degree or higher, or an equivalent combination of education and experience . The successful candidate will also have:

  • Special consideration given to candidates with training experience as well as working knowledge of Penn State Development software systems: eSteward, AWA (data warehouse proficiency preferred).
  • Must be proficient in MS Office suite.
