Qualifications:

  • Use a personal computer and appropriate computer software.

  • Operate with a high level of personal organization.

  • Proficient in electrical print reading and understanding.

  • Technical background in automated equipment, electrical components, pneumatics/hydraulic systems.

  • Previous success in an industrial/commercial maintenance technician role working with automated equipment sets.

  • Five years of relevant work experience in manufacturing maintenance with knowledge of electronics, hydraulic, and pneumatic mechanical equipment.

  • Be a self-starter and work independently in the absence of supervision.

  • Ability to read and understand component, machine design, electric, pneumatic, and hydraulic schematics and blueprints.

  • Basic math and engineering skills to support the design or modification of equipment or fixtures as required.

  • Reading, communication, simple math.

Responsibilities:

  • The Machine Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring smooth operation of machinery and mechanical equipment used in production of military hardware.

  • A strong focus on safety, quality, customer satisfaction, time management, and a balance of priorities will be vital to operating successfully in the role.

  • Identify faults, failures, and ordinary wear components on machinery.

  • Identify and gain knowledge of equipment failures to understand root causes.

  • Conduct preventive maintenance and record activities for the maintenance manager.

  • Support in the improvement of facility maintenance process to better meet the needs of production teams and safety.

  • Perform emergency and unscheduled production equipment repairs during production hours and perform scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during scheduled preventative maintenance.

  • Evaluate, troubleshoot, and implement corrective actions on machinery and auxiliary assembly equipment.

  • Proficient with mills, lathes, CNCs, UPS, electrical, controls, and reverse engineering.

  • Consult with Facility Engineers on mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic repairs and modifications.

  • Read and interpret sketches, drawings, diagrams, and blueprints.

  • Perform all duties of other maintenance positions as required.

  • Maintain a clean work area and shop.

  • Demonstrated success in troubleshooting and implementing corrective action processes in equipment repair.

  • Knowledge in automated equipment with the ability to support the electronic interface, mechanical installation, design/fabrication, repairs, and maintenance of various brands of secondary automation devices for production equipment.

  • Ability to develop preventative maintenance requirements and schedules for equipment.

  • Regularly required to walk, stand, use of hands to handle, hold, grasp, and reach.

  • Frequently required to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.

  • Occasionally required to sit, climb, and balance.

  • Shall understand how to interpret machine maintenance manuals, mechanical schematics and electrical schematics.

  • Be capable of troubleshooting electrical problems with the appropriate meter or testing instrument.

  • Diagnose electronic problems and determine how to correct them, checking blueprints, repair manuals or parts catalogs, as necessary.

  • Repair machines, equipment or structures, using precision measuring instruments or electrical or electronic testing devices.

  • Will leverage strong technical knowledge and hands-on experience to maintain and repair manufacturing equipment.

Required Education (including Major):

  • High School Diploma or GED.

  • 2 Year STEM/Electronics Degree or Equivalent.

  • AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience.
