Job Responsibilities:*

  • Sourcing Investigation and Analysis - Participate in reviews of suppliers, spend categories, materials, components, risks, and active project needs with Supply Chain Leadership Team to assess, prioritize, staff, plan, and execute sourcing activities. Prospect viable alternatives or substitute suppliers, materials, and components to solve supply continuity issues. Utilize cross functional resources to accomplish sourcing activities to support on time production. Provide technical detailed analyses and supporting evidence to the Company’s product teams and engineers for consideration and support. Assist with design changes.
  • Supplier Process, Capacity, and Capability Evaluation - Conduct cross functional supplier visits to evaluate their capacity and capability performance. Identify and recommend changes to processes and assist with improvement. Validate supplier procedures and practices to ensure results meet required specifications for production and able to yield zero errors at full production rate. Utilize internal and acquire external expert resources to ensure processes are fully vetted and qualified. Investigate and recommend modifications or alternative processes if existing processes do not produce acceptable results or pose unacceptable risk. Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure alternatives do not cause issues with downstream processes.
  • Component and Material Qualification Testing - Utilize the Company’s supplier quality requirements and parts qualification process to plan and execute material qualification and testing activities. Identify vulnerabilities and recommend alternatives timely, to support production and service needs. Utilize internal or acquire external expert resources to validate components and materials are fully tested and qualified. Ensure design specifications match components and materials. In the event of a discrepancy, execute a temporary deviation notice (TDN’s), ensure documentation changes are made, and corporate power purchase agreement (CPPAS) validation completed. Ensure conditional approval is documented, with clearly defined conditions, and are followed up on, met, and closed appropriately.
  • Leadership and Communication - Initiate, lead, and document, project meetings and maintain project records. Communicate to project team members, key stakeholders, and senior management on progress and/or deviation in project goals.
  • Miscellaneous - Attend department, staff, operations, product team, and management meetings. Provide backup for managers involved in active projects and assistance to operational functions when requested. Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:*

Bachelor’s degree (Engineering)

  • 8-15 years related experience
  • Frequent travel & overnight stays

Preferred Qualifications:*

Master’s degree in Business or Engineering.

  • Experienced in sourcing global suppliers.
  • This is a leadership position which requires a seasoned professional, high degree of creativity, responsibility, integrity, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
