Overview:
Utah State University is seeking a qualified individual to serve as an Admissions Specialist and Outreach Coordinator (Recruiter II) for its Brigham City Region. This dynamic individual will engage the community and be a presence in Davis, Weber & Box Elder Counties as a representative of USU’s Kaysville, Brigham City & Tremonton campuses. They will have a strong admissions role to help build programs. This will include meeting with local organizations, businesses, and educational institutions, as well as attending promotional events. They will oversee activities related to educational opportunities and help with daily operations of the Kaysville campus, which is where their office will be located. They will also have oversight over the Kaysville campus’s social media campaigns and outreach. This is a great opportunity for an outgoing, upbeat, and positive personality.
Responsibilities:
  • Fostering admissions, engaging in community interaction, coordinating event oversight, and helping with educational tasks at the Kaysville campus
  • Serve as the primary admission specialist (recruiter) for the entire USU Brigham City Region, including managing recruitment records and communications, attending fairs and events, building relationships with community entities, and scheduling and facilitating tours.
  • Assists with enrollment efforts, such as calling campaigns, emailing, business visits, tabling, canvasing with flyers, etc.
  • Working with students at all levels including first time, returning, graduate, and short term training students. This will include traditional and post traditional students.
  • Responsible for engaging and integrating into community organizations, groups, and entities by being present at meetings and happenings.
  • Assist with the execution of on-campus events such as Open Houses, Heritage Days, Scarecrow/Pumpkin Walk, Transfer Information Sessions, and Counselor programs.
  • Create strong partnerships with other educational institutions, shared entities on site, governmental entities, and local organizations.
  • Work in conjunction with advancement, alumni, and development groups regarding fundraising, scholarships, and relationship building. Participate in fundraising and scholarship generation events and activities.
  • Sit on the Marketing Committee to discuss options and offer suggestions in promoting USU Kaysville and its services.
  • Serve as the content manager for USU Kaysville social media pages and utilizes social media to promote efforts across all areas of responsibility.
  • Assist in performing office duties, including answering phones, directing calls to appropriate parties, data entry, filing, appointment scheduling, and other general duties as needed.
  • Provide support for departmental programs and projects.
  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree plus two years of related experience; OR an associate degree plus four years of related experience; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong customer service orientation, experience, or knowledge with the ability to apply those skills in creating positive experiences while interacting with others.
  • Effective presentation and speaking skills especially with the ability to present a positive message to groups and one on one.
  • Ability to work in a team setting with a service-oriented attitude, a desire to strive for continuous improvement.
  • Responsive, creative, and able to work independently without strong oversight.
  • Ability to travel to events and activities and ability to adapt schedule to participate in these.
  • Proficiency with common computer software such as word processing, presentations, spreadsheets, databases, etc.
  • Ability to build and enhance relationships and promote diversity and inclusion with all stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous recruiting/admissions experience in higher education.
  • Experience working in an educational setting.
  • Experience working with post traditional students.
  • Marketing or promotional experience.
  • Experience running/managing organizational social media accounts.
  • History of being engaged in community organizations.
  • Familiarity with distance delivery systems and experience operating in differing modalities such as interactive video conference, online, and blended formats.

Advertised Salary: $41,000 - $44,000; Depending on experience, plus excellent benefits ADA:
Employees work indoors and are protected from weather and/or contaminants, but not, necessarily, occasional temperature changes. The employee is regularly required to sit and often uses repetitive hand motions.
