Administrative Support Specialist

ABOUT THE POSITION

We are seeking a Support Specialist to assist our Federal client in Silver Spring, MD. The Support Specialist will provide an array of administrative and project support tasks to our client. The ideal candidate will have excellent oral and written communication skills, have attention to detail, be organized, be able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, work independently, and have the ability to interact effectively with people.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Provide administrative and clerical support to the department, either as part of a team or individually to ensure the administration and smooth running of departmental business

· Produce correspondence and documents and maintain presentations, records, spreadsheets and databases.

· Update training trackers inputting information from multiple sources.

· Assist in maintaining Performance Plans and identify and plans that are not meeting planned goals and achievements.

· Training Budget Spreadsheet – Collect and record training expense records for Federal employees upon approval by Branch Chiefs, Deputy Director, Directors

· Assist staff in completing SF-182 training forms for Federal staff members; Once completed and all parties have signed, send for payment

· Schedule, manage, track completion, and provide reports for training requirements.

· Update training rosters troubleshooting minor virtual learning platforms before and during class (Zoom, Google Meet, GoToMeeting).

· Schedule virtual classrooms and conference rooms for trainings.

· Read and interpret regulations and policies.

· Interpret statistical data and turn into useful information that can be used for critical decision making.

Required:

· Bachelor’s Degree plus 4 years of experience (If no degree – 8 years of total work experience)

· Knowledgeable in supporting agency programs and activities.

· Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word.

· Desired experience working in a government agency in a similar role.

· Knowledge of PDF compression and other formatting to reduce sizing in data.

· Knowledge of Microsoft Suite (Excel), Google Suite (docs/sheet) for data retrieval and ability to manipulate data in different formats on different platforms.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $45,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
