Description:JOB SUMMARY

This position serves the Director of Pupil Services and the Pupil Services Department, which includes Special Education, School Counseling, Nursing, Psychologists, Therapists and Speech and Language Pathologists. This position performs highly confidential student and staff-related work and performs varied secretarial duties with a high degree of accuracy and confidentiality. This position works full-time and year round.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist the Pupil Services Director with general department administrative operations.
  • Provide communication for Individualized Education Plan meetings, including parent contact and meeting notices to teachers and parents.
  • Provide support to Special Education Teachers in their use of Student Information Systems (SEEDS and Skyward).
  • Review of special education paperwork, printing and locking of paperwork in student management system as well as monitor teacher/staff caseloads.
  • Communicate sensitive information to staff, students, parents and community members.
  • Respect the confidentiality of administration, staff, students, and organizations of the community.
  • Complete simple to complex assignments with a minimum of instruction or supervision.
  • Prioritize multiple tasks from a variety of sources, ensuring timely completion.
  • Create and maintain appropriate files for newly identified students with disabilities.
  • Use local and state data systems to manage student information and other data.
  • Maintains records and prepares local, state and federal periodic reports.
  • Assist in building and maintaining an office team to support the needs of the administration and the district.
  • Maintain a calm professional environment during times when interruptions, disruptions and a stressful environment interfere with the flow of work.
  • Work effectively with and respond to people from diverse cultures or backgrounds.
  • Demonstrate professionalism and appropriate judgment in behavior, speech, and dress in a neat, clean and appropriate manner for the assignment and work setting.
  • Have regular and punctual attendance.
  • Confer regularly with immediate supervisor.
  • Follow all district policies, work procedures and reasonable requests by proper authority.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 - $18.00 per hour
