ACTIVITY COORDINATOR/SOCIAL LUNCH SITE HOST PT - 20-25 HRS PER WEEK

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsible for hosting the social lunch site in Downtown Newark and serving as activity coordinator for that site.

• Continuously creating and seeking new and diverse activities to meet the interest of the seniors and adding activities in outlying areas of Licking County.
• Responsible for planning, coordinating, and implementing social, educational and recreational activities for the agency, attending events at Heritage Hall and other locations in Licking County and post event evaluation.
• Actively encouraging client participation in all activities.
• Maintaining club contracts, entertainment scheduling, and event layout design.
• Setup and cleanup after events.
• Creates and updates the calendar of events in a calendar, Outlook, and on ServTracker.
• Maintain recordkeeping and required documentation of each activity and senior club in a timely manner.
• Create a positive and relaxed social environment while maintaining professional conduct at all times.
• Other duties as required.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Prefer high school graduate or equivalent
• Must have vibrant personality and enjoy spending day surrounded by older adults, and be helpful and caring by nature
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Proven experience with customer service
• Comfort with computers and technology, including Microsoft Office Suite
• Dependable, organized and able to work unsupervised
• Experience in group leadership, training staff.
• Must be able to keep neat, accurate records and follow directions.
• Must follow state and local health department guidelines that may apply to the job.
• Must have empathy for and understanding of the needs of the elderly, impoverished and developmentally disabled
• Valid Ohio Driver’s License is required, as well as at least the minimum auto insurance coverage for Ohio (must be able to provide proof upon request)
• Regular and predictable attendance is required

May require standing for more than one hour, walking, sitting, bending, stooping, squatting, kneeling, twisting, reaching above your head, good range of motion in neck, good manual dexterity and coordination, stair climbing, and climbing in and out of a vehicle. You may also be exposed to adverse climatic conditions both inside and in the outdoor environment.

Pay: $15.00 - $21.35 per hour
