The Activities Coordinator is a valuable member of the Day Habilitation team who provides and coordinates wellness activities and resources for the team. This person is expected to setup and facilitate small and large group activities designed to enhance the lives of the people we support who participate in the various programs offered.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop programs and activities, focused around the suggestions and wellness goals of the people we provide services for.
  • Possess a clear understanding of the Engaged and Empowered Wellness Program
  • Maintain a monthly calendar with the Day Habilitation Management Team, as well as communicate effectively with Program Managers to initiate daily programs and activities.
  • Facilitates and assists in activities as needed.
  • Ensure materials and supplies are in place for activities.
  • Maintain and send out Engaged and Empowered Monthly zoom calendar.
  • Participate in wellness curriculum trainings.
  • Monitor results and share findings quarterly ensuring continuous in program areas.

Qualifications:

Bachelors' Degree in Therapeutic Recreation or a Bachelor's degree in a similar field with at least two years of experience planning activities or similar role is required. A minimum of two years' experience working with adults with disabilities is required. Must demonstrate a positive, professional appearance and attitude as well as excellent communication skills, strong organizational skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint. A valid NYS Driver's License and clean driving record and use of own vehicle is required. The ability to manage projects is also desired. Training in the Health Matters curriculum is preferred and can be completed upon hire if not currently trained in the curriculum.
