We are seeking a detailed-oriented, organized and responsible Accounts Payable Specialist to join our growing accounting team in St. Petersburg, Fl. The right candidate will have experience handling accounts payable transactions and will have strong communication skills as well as an ability to work well independently and as part of a team.

This role offers a hybrid schedule after training

Essential Duties and Functions:

• Responsible for Account Current and/or Item Basis reports and reconciliation.
• Responsible for Account Current and/or Item Basis Carrier payables.
• Assists with premium corrections and day-to-day accounting issues with underwriting teams.
• Corresponds with carriers regarding balances & works with Carriers and/or underwriting teams to resolve issues and reconcile discrepancies.
• Corresponds with carriers to ensure return premium funds are collected timely and recorded appropriately.
• Cross-trained in accounting functions to help fill-in covering vacations or any other absences.
• Special projects as assigned by the Accounting Leader

Qualifications

• Associates degree or equivalent work experience
• Familiarity with standard accounts payable practices, general accounting principles., and relevant regulations preferred
• Proactive with strong initiative; a self-starter who is comfortable taking on new tasks with little guidance
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Access and SQL encouraged, but not required.
• Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office products, especially Excel.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
