What We’re Looking For

Baylor University Financial Services team is seeking two full-time Accounts Payable Specialists to join our team. This position is responsible for maintaining invoicing and payment accuracy and ensuring all company bills are current. You will analyze and process purchase requisitions and expense reports for payment. Additionally, this position supports accurate regulatory filings and financial statement preparation and provides exemplary and timely customer service. One of these opportunities will be focused on the Procurement and Payment services while the second role will be focused on ER and Payment Requisitions.

This position is eligible for remote work with occasional workdays required on location in Waco. Specific details will be discussed with candidates selected for an interview.

An Associate Degree, up to three years of relevant work experience, and an active Christian faith are required. A Bachelor’s degree and five years of relevant work experience are preferred. Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

What You Will Do

• Analyze and process invoices, check requests, and travel expense reports
• Review and audit invoices for 15+ distinct characteristics
• Research and resolve invoice matching errors, accounting, budget, and policy issues with internal and external clients
• Audit employee expense reports for compliance with company policies and regulations.
• Communicate and ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and regulations
• Monitor outstanding invoices and purchase orders for payment, diligently follow up on any outstanding payment items to ensure timely payments to vendors
• Serve as a contact for vendor onboarding and the vendor registration process
• Perform vendor on boarding and maintenance tasks for both domestic and foreign vendors
• Prepare and review supplier reconciliations; resolve payment discrepancies with vendors
• Participate in month end and year end close processes
• Support accurate and timely preparation of annual unclaimed property filing and filing of IRS forms 1099
• Provide exemplary customer service by communicating and developing a rapport with internal and external clients
• Field phone calls and emails for issues with expense reports, invoice processing, payment requests, Ignite AP, payment processing, reporting requests.
