We are looking for an organized, efficient Accounting Clerk with an eye for detail and a high level of accuracy to help with grower accounting. Accounting Clerks can expect to handle communications with vendors, clients, and internal departments, assist with inventory, database, and record maintenance, process payments and deposits, and generally ensure that the grower accounting operations are running smoothly. You should be professional and courteous with strong computer skills and a basic understanding of accounting and financial principles.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

· Preparation of accounts payable for vendor payment including purchase order preparation and usage

· Monitor and control vendor list for accuracy and authenticity

· Prepare schedules using Excel as needed for A/P record keeping/analysis

· Ensure accurate coding in general ledger with special attention to department allocations and capital improvements

· Pickup and distribution of mail

· Occasional office backup such as answering phones, scale truck deliveries and processor tickets

· Work with management on various projects as needed

· Must be available for flexible hours, overtime and weekends during times of heavy work load

Education & Experience:

· Two or more years of college education, and basic understanding of accounting principles

· 2 years’ experience in A/P and related duties

· Experience in the agriculture industry

· None

Equipment/Technology Skills:

· Working knowledge of: word processing software, spreadsheet software, accounting software, internet software

· General office equipment, strong ability in typing and 10-key

Physical Abilities:

· Ability to occasionally perform various activities that require; sitting, standing, walking, lifting, pulling/pushing objects, grasp & reach

· Ability to speak clearly & communicate with others

· Must have good vision

· Ability to occasionally lift 20 lbs. from floor/ shoulder level

· High mathematical ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals; ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs; ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume

· High reasoning ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists; ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 - $22.00 per hour
