SUMMARY:

Compiles and maintains accounts payable records by performing the following duties:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Issues Purchase Orders

Ensure appropriate approval is received on all invoices submitted for payment.

Properly identify expense classification code and enter invoices appropriately.

Prepares accounts payable checks. Obtains authorized signature and distributes as necessary.

Prints all accounts payable reports and maintains all accounts payable files.

Assists in monthly closings.

Preparation of Sales Tax Refund spreadsheet.

Maintain Fixed Assets.

Assist with special projects, as necessary.

QUALIFICATIONS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

Six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Willing to train the right candidate.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

COMPUTER SKILLS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of accounting software; Payroll systems; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Experience in operation of 10-key, accounts payable, and integrated software.
