Overview:

The Accounting Clerk 2 performs various accounting functions, prepares and reviews expenses in the OneLink (Oracle PeopleSoft) Travel & Expense report module, and oversees the accounts payable workflow. Duties include, but are not limited to, preparing support for journal entries, account analysis, and providing customer service for employee questions.


This is a temporary non-benefited role scheduled to last approximately 6 months.


This is a hybrid position that is a blend of working both remotely and in office. Must reside in the Northwest Service Region (Oregon or Washington).

Responsibilities:

Major Responsibilities

OneLink Travel and Expense Module T&E
  • Occasionally prepare electronic expense reports for infrequent users of T&E, which includes attaching documentation and proper general ledger coding
  • If necessary, assist expense owners in submitting the reports online, which will then be routed to accounting for review
  • Review expense reports prepared by others to ensure sufficient documentation is included and general ledger coding is appropriate
  • Train employees on use of the T&E system and assist with any questions
  • Participate in cross-training within the department as needed
Accounts Payable
  • Validate and code invoices for the Accounts Payable department
  • Act as the point of contact for employees and vendors
General Accounting
  • Record journal entries to the general ledger to support monthly and annual closing of the books
  • Complete monthly analysis of select general ledger accounts
  • Assist in annual projects (i.e. staff dues, MD license renewals, etc.)
  • Participate in cross-training within the department as needed
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:

Minimum Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent
Minimum Work Experience
  • Minimum one (1) year of accounting or bookkeeping experience

  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Advanced organizational skills for workflow and documentation
  • Self-motivated with excellent time management skills
  • Customer service oriented with good active listening skills
  • Advanced knowledge of math and accounting principles
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to problem solve

Preferred Education

  • Associates degree in Accounting or related field

Preferred Work Experience and Qualifications

  • Three (3) years experience in Accounting or bookkeeping
  • Previous experience in a healthcare organization
  • Previous experience at Kaiser Permanente
